01Overview

Post Investment Group is a founder-led holding company based in Beverly Hills, California, started in 2007 by Jason Post. Its apartment business runs through two affiliates: Post Real Estate Group, which buys and owns multifamily properties, and TAM Residential, which manages them. TAM Residential is based in Plano, Texas, and is the name residents and listing sites see at Post's Dallas-Fort Worth properties.

The group focuses on older and affordable apartment communities, including LIHTC properties, affordable conversions and workforce housing. It also owns businesses outside real estate, such as insurance, title and franchise brands.

Our count from public property records, HUD and the firm's own site; a listing alone never counts.

Post Real Estate Group reports holdings across more than a dozen states, with Texas and California as its largest concentrations. In Dallas-Fort Worth, the properties in our records are mostly older garden-style communities in suburbs such as Irving, Plano, Garland, Addison and Lewisville, plus several in Dallas proper, some operating under affordable housing programs. The Portfolio figures shown on this page come from our own county and listing data.

Our summary

In September 2025, Post WB Apartments LLC, the owner of Willowbend Apartments in San Antonio, joined the Texas Workforce Housing Coalition in a lawsuit against the Bexar Appraisal District. The suit argues that Texas HB 21, which tightened the rules for housing finance corporation tax exemptions, is unconstitutional. For lenders and owners, this matters because Texas properties held through out-of-area housing finance corporations may lose their tax exemptions under the new law, raising operating costs.

Post also holds Texas properties through public facility corporations, which must file yearly income-restriction audits with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. In June 2025 the state found noncompliance at two Plano properties, Latitude and Collin Creek. The issues were residents above the income limit in program units, late income certifications and tenant files missing income verification, and the state required corrective action. The 2026 reviews of Latitude and two Houston properties found no noncompliance. These reviews show how much the tax benefit depends on the manager's file work.

Court records also show routine litigation involving TAM Residential. This includes an eviction case filed in Washington state in 2025 and a vendor debt claim in Harris County, Texas, filed in 2024 and reported dismissed in 2025. We found no HUD, DOJ or fair housing enforcement action naming Post Investment Group or TAM Residential, and we did not find either named in the RealPage rent-pricing lawsuits.

About the leadership

Jason Post is founder and CEO of Post Investment Group. Jeff Platt, a co-founder and former CEO of Sky Zone, joined the group in 2021 as president of its massage franchise, The NOW Massage. He is now chief operating officer across the group's operating companies and president of its franchise platform. Leon Halperin has been group CFO since 2010, after a decade as CFO of Lagovent Ventures. Greg Ferkel is chief legal officer. He was previously senior real estate counsel at Roll Law Group and an attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council. Ben Knapik, a former L.E.K. Consulting management consultant, leads corporate strategy.

On the ownership side, Scott Pickett leads real estate transactions for Post Real Estate Group. He joined as vice president of acquisitions and previously worked on office and debt deals at Thomas Properties Group. In early 2025 the Post Real Estate Group team also included John Jeter, a senior vice president with past asset management roles at AIMCO, Tarragon and Southwest Housing; Adam Chrisakis in investor relations; and Matt Lambeth, a former Sky Zone real estate executive who ran capital projects through the affiliate Hillcrest Property Services. Mark Harding, formerly of American Housing, Southwest Housing and Gables Residential, leads the construction affiliate 1st Call Services.

At TAM Residential, Dara Vaziri is head of operations. He previously helped lead asset management for Post Real Estate Group, and before that worked on FCP's Texas apartment portfolio and at Turner Construction. Aaron Cohen leads asset management and property operations. He previously worked at JRK Property Holdings and CGI+ Real Estate Investments. Mona Gisler, a former CFO of Douglas Emmett, is CFO, with Penny Kohler, previously at Cushman & Wakefield and Parkway Properties, as senior vice president of finance and accounting. Amber Stover, who held HR roles at Edmunds.com, Ross Stores, Disney and Robert Half Legal, is chief people officer for the whole group.

Operations are split among vice presidents Natalie Griego, Lara Stoughton and Miriam Flores, with prior roles at Harbor Group, JRK, Asset Living and Adara Communities; Lara Stoughton covers the Southeast and Colorado. William Ballew, an Army veteran who worked at Lincoln Property Company and Portico, leads maintenance operations. Robert Oley, senior vice president of support, oversees marketing, compliance, systems, transitions and training; he held senior roles at Solidago Residential Services, Royal American Management, Guardian Real Estate Services and Crest Compliance Services, mostly in affordable housing. Rhea Carreon oversees Texas and Washington properties as a senior regional manager. Mollie Kickbush, who joined in 2023 from Cushman & Wakefield, runs affordable housing compliance. Golden Shaver and Corby Barron handle asset transitions, the onboarding of newly managed properties.

Michele Butler, who built TAM's third-party business and was named president in 2023, no longer appears on the leadership page. TAM takes new-business inquiries through a contact form with its Plano office's general phone and email, not a named business development lead. Public sources did not name a leader dedicated only to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Case studies (3)
  • Harbor Terrace, San Pedro, CA: workforce housing conversion. Post partnered with a non-profit and public agencies to convert a 1987-built apartment property in San Pedro to workforce housing, with all units set aside for households at or below 80% of area median income. The firm's case study gives no financial results.[69][68]
  • Viewcrest Village, Bremerton, WA: LIHTC preservation. Post bought an existing 1952-built LIHTC property restricted to low-income tenants through 2032, put in $1.5 million of initial capital plus a $750,000 reserve, replaced roofs and repainted, and financed it with Fannie Mae 10-year debt. The firm says occupancy was 99% and turnover well below the national average, and plans to extend affordability or convert to workforce housing.[70]
  • The Fairways and The Paddock Club, Columbia, SC: tax-exempt bond structure. Two early-1990s properties bought through a federally tax-exempt bond, owned outright by two non-profits with Post as project sponsor and day-to-day manager. Post sponsored a $9,585,000 subordinate bond and budgeted $4.3 million for capital work; 20% of units are set at 50% AMI and 55% at 80% AMI.[71][68]
Our notes on performance and fees

Post and TAM do not publish portfolio occupancy, rent growth or operating results. In a July 2026 market note, Post called its portfolio relatively resilient but gave no figures. The only property-level figures we found are in Texas state audit filings for public facility corporation properties, which show three TAM-managed properties in Plano and Houston mostly occupied in 2025. These are a small sample, not portfolio results.

Post's own case studies describe individual deals. At Viewcrest Village, a LIHTC property in Bremerton, Washington, the firm says occupancy is high and turnover is well below the national average, after new roofs and repainting. At The Fairways and The Paddock Club in Columbia, South Carolina, it budgeted capital work per unit as part of a tax-exempt bond purchase. These are the firm's own statements about selected properties.

TAM Residential says several of its properties earned ORA Power Ranking Elite 1% designations between 2017 and 2021, which are based on online resident reputation. These are also the firm's own statements about selected properties.

The only management fee we found is in a public SEC filing. In June 2025 a joint venture led by a PGIM real estate fund, with a Post entity as the minority operating partner, bought the Ardent at Mill Creek in Mill Creek, Washington, and hired TAM Residential to manage it. The filing describes TAM as an affiliate of the Post partner.

Under that agreement the owner pays TAM a base property management fee of 1.75% of gross collected operating revenues. TAM also charges the owner a fixed monthly asset management fee and fixed monthly company management fees on top of the base fee. The base rate is low for the industry, but the extra fixed fees raise the total cost. This is one property with a related-party manager, so it may not reflect what TAM charges unaffiliated owners.

No public information was found on resident fee schedules at TAM-managed properties.

TAM Residential uses Entrata as its property management system. Its job postings name Entrata as the company's core system, and its resident portal at tam.residentportal.com runs on Entrata's ResidentPortal product. A 2026 marketing job posting shows leads and tours are tracked in Entrata and reported through Looker Studio and Excel dashboards, alongside data from the reputation platform Birdeye and marketing vendors. EliseAI names TAM Residential as a client using its AI leasing assistant to handle prospect messages. TAM had a director of revenue management in 2023, but no public source named its revenue management software. No public information was found on its data integrations or APIs.

Post has grown from a Texas-focused distressed buyer in 2009 to a multi-state owner with a large affordable housing focus. TAM Residential expanded from six south-central states into the Pacific Northwest from 2021 and now also lists properties in the Southeast and Florida. Its Texas office moved from Frisco to Plano. From 2021 to 2023 Post added Texas properties through public facility corporation partnerships with the Houston and Plano housing authorities, including new construction in Plano. Acquisitions continued in 2025 and 2026, mainly in Los Angeles and San Jose. We found no public report of new Dallas-Fort Worth acquisitions in the same period. The group's stated headcount has been roughly flat since early 2025. The Texas HB 21 changes are a headwind for the housing finance corporation structures used on some of its Texas properties.

Affordable housingAffordable housing is a core line: Post Real Estate Group started a LIHTC program in 2011 and a Workforce Housing Initiative in 2018. In Texas it holds properties with public facility corporations of the Houston and Plano housing authorities under regulatory agreements that reserve program units for households at or below 80% of area median income, with TAM Residential as the named manager.[7][31][32][35][34]
Employee growthRoughly flat: Post Investment Group stated more than 1,250 direct employees in March 2025 and still states more than 1,250 in 2026; in February 2025 Post Real Estate Group said over 600 of the group's employees worked in the real estate division.[45][6][46]

Not publicly disclosed: Sister companies

The firm is privately held and controlled by its founder. It acts mainly as an owner-operator: Post Real Estate Group buys the properties and TAM Residential manages them. The group describes itself as vertically integrated, with affiliates handling construction and capital projects (1st Call Services and Hillcrest Property Services), title and insurance. TAM Residential also describes itself as a property management provider to the wider multifamily investment community, offering third-party management, consulting, due diligence and repositioning services. Public sources did not show which, if any, current TAM properties belong to unaffiliated owners.

Post has a long history of buying distressed properties from special servicers, dating to 2009 in Texas. More recently it has used partnerships with public entities, including Texas housing finance corporations, to hold properties with property tax exemptions.
